Ever wonder what happens to all the leftover bread and produce at grocery stores? With your help, it goes to the hungry! Volunteers load their vehicle with food from Whole Foods and deliver it to a local food pantry. We have an immediate opening on Wednesday nights at 7pm. The delivery takes about an hour round-trip and requires 1-2 volunteers. Please email us at info@stlouisfoodrescue.org if you are interested in this opportunity at 7pm on Wednesday nights!

About St. Louis Food Rescue
Location:

Mission Statement
To alleviate hunger in our community by collecting perishables that would have been discarded from local food retailers and immediately delivering them to the organizations most in need, and to inspire and motivate young people.
Description
Ever wonder what happens to all that leftover food when grocery stores and bakeries close up for the day? Well there are a few organizations similar to us that pick up this food and deliver it to homeless shelters and food pantries, but none are strictly run by young people- teenagers- and none operate mainly on the weekends and evenings like us. Produce, baked goods, dairy products, and dented cans are items that we receive on a daily basis, and on average, we save over 5,000lbs of food per week.
