Family Treasures Thrift Shop

Children's Home Society of Florida is seeking dedicated, thriftin' awesome volunteers for our Upscale Thrift Shop! Almost entirely volunteer run, the thrift store contributes to "Building Bridges of Success for children" by providing the essentials for children and families that are overcoming child abuse, neglect, and abandonment, and raising funds for adoption, intervention, and prevention programs and services throughout Mid-Florida. Volunteers will gain experience in sales, marketing, retail, donation intake, customer service, sorting and inventory, and organization in a unique non-profit program setting. Individual and group volunteers are more than welcome!

This is a community-led effort - and every interaction is much more than a transaction. All profits help create stronger families and brighter futures for kids. Plus, families we serve may shop at the store for free! Together, we’ve built a place where everyone can find great deals and join us in our mission to build bridges to success for children. Our shop is ideal for volunteers of all ages, from high schoolers to retirees. We have opportunities for individuals and groups year-round. Our volunteers sort and process donations, greet customers, operate the cash register and make sure the store is in tip-top shape! Many volunteers also work closely with store management to develop successful marketing plans for our year-round clothing and furniture drives. Volunteers may receive exclusive discounts on the shop’s items (dependent on the number of hours served). You can also help "shop" for clients, whether it’s finding the perfect back-to-school outfit for a third-grader or picking out books a family can read together.
