The Immersion program educates youth, ages 6-10, on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) in a fun and engaging way. We are looking for positive, fun and devoted mentors to spend one hour per week engaging a small group of four youth. Each week, a facilitator will introduce the necessary materials and information, to the groups in order to complete their project.

We are looking for volunteers to lead a STEM group every Thursday from 3:30-4:30 starting Thursday, September 6th.

Our mission is to foster the academic, social, and physical development of boys and girls, ages 6-18, with special emphasis on youth from disadvantaged circumstances. Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Cincinnati achieves its mission through the provision of a variety of after-school and summer programs including educational, recreational, arts & cultural enrichment, and character building programs.

Description

Established in 1939, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Cincinnati (BGCGC) provides daily afterschool and summer programs to children ages 6-18. Each year, approximately 12,000 youth in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky are provided with a safe and positive place to learn and grow at our 11 Club locations.

At the Boys & Girls Clubs, children can spend their non-school hours surrounded by caring adults and engaged in enriching, age appropriate youth development activities. Club Members have access to an array of programs in 3 core areas; (1) high school graduation, (2) healthy lifestyles, and (3) community engagement. Annual membership is FREE, with a completed application, and includes a daily, hot and nutritious meal. Moreover, Boys & Girls Clubs gets kids off the streets during the most dangerous time of the day, between 3-8p.m., according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

BGCGC is part of the national affiliation of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America which encompasses more then 4,300 Club locations in the 50 states, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and U.S. military bases world wide serving 4.5 million youth annually.
