Freebie & Moses

Horses' Haven was established as a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, retrain and re-home at risk equines (horses, ponies, donkeys and mules). We assist law enforcement agencies and accept surrendered horses from owners displaying a clear need for help (we are not a retirement facility). Our goal is to find every horse in our care a forever home through adoption. This is accomplished through medical rehabilitation and training to ensure each horse, rideable or not, has the skills needed to be a good equine citizen.

We need volunteers who love horses, don't mind hard work and generously give their time delivering quality care to all our animals. Our capacity is 70 animals and we are always full.

You do not have to know anything about horses as you will quickly learn about horse care. This rewarding work is available to those who are at least 16 years old or 12 years old with a parent.

We have 2 shifts every day, 7 days a week. Shifts are scheduled at 8 Am or 4 PM and last about 5 hours long. Volunteers come weekly to help out. All are welcome! Please contact us via email at horseshavenmi@gmail.com, we would love to talk with you in more detail about volunteering.

Hope to see you soon!
