The Ronald McDonald Family Room will be a special place of refuge where families can escape the hospital atmosphere while being only a moment away from their child's bedside. It will provide a private, relaxing space for family members and patients as they endure a stressful life experience and will be a welcomed respite from the hospital environment. The Family Room will be open to anyone with a child in the hospital, including those who live in the local area, as well as families who have traveled long distances and may be staying at the Ronald McDonald House. As an extension of the Ronald McDonald House of Tallahassee, the Family Room at CRMC is designed to offer guests comforts and conveniences to allow the family to focus on the care of their child. Visitors to the Family Room will be greeted by volunteers who offer snacks, smiles, entertainment and a listening ear. This is where YOU come in: Volunteers are needed to serve in the Family Room in this host/hostess role. The room must be manned at all times (most likely 9 am to 6 pm, 7 days a week) by RMHC Volunteers in order for it to remain open and available to the patients and families.
