Volunteer in a program that makes it possible for children and parents from very low-income families to make contributions to the communty through art, cooking, writing, cleaning and more. The families earn "tickets", which they then redeem fro basic necessities. You can play a key role in helping families build the skills and attitudes needed to break the cycle of poverty.
And, you can be more than just a volunteer.
Volunteer at our current location - Lowell Elementary School in downtown San Jose - on the 4th Sundays throughout the year. Once you learn about the building blocks for running a successful program you can help new families with the program activities at our new location in the fall - 2nd Sundays at Santee Elementary . Programs will run at these sites on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month.
It's easy! Visit our website at www.SundayFriends.org and complete the New Volunteer Orientation to be itnerviewed and to schedule to come to your first program. We hope to see you at a program soon.
Thank you from all of us!
