The 2018 hurricane season has been extraordinarily active in parts of the U.S., with Hurricane Florence currently impacting millions in the Carolinas. As this natural disaster unfolds, the staff here at VolunteerMatch is doing its part to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you are prepared and safe. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know about the most effective ways to contribute.
Michigan Blood is seeking volunteers to help at blood drives in the Kalamazoo area, as well as surrounding counties. If you're driven by extending great customer service to those around you, we have a position that would suit you well! In the Post Donation area, volunteers are responsible for providing great customer service by socializing with donors, observing donors for reactions, and offering refreshments after the donation process while donors wait out a 15-minute stay. Any time you can give is extremely appreciated. You can volunteer as often or as little as you want. This opportunity is perfect for those in college, retired, and those working who want to be more involved in their community. No experience is necessary, just a friendly, dependable, and caring attitude, and a willingness to travel to the blood drives of your choosing. Training is provided by Michigan Blood. Please contact us or visit www.miblood.org to learn more. An application and orientation are required to volunteer.
