Uhuru Furniture is bringing a team of volunteers to be at all of the exciting outdoor festivals and flea markets this summer!
The Uhuru Health Festival & Flea Market on April 23rd will be the first outdoor Uhuru event of the year! After the Health Festival, there will be more Uhuru Flea Markets held on May 21st, June 18th, August 20th, September 24th, and October 22nd of 2016.
It's socializing for social justice! Enjoy the outdoors and festival atmosphere while promoting Uhuru Furniture & Collectibles' furniture donation pick-up service, and shopping in support of the African People's Education and Defense Fund (APEDF.org), supporting sustainable economic development in the hands of the African community.
With a fun, enthusiastic group, hand out Uhuru Furniture business cards and flyers in the crowd. Then stay and enjoy the event. This is a great volunteer activity to bring your friends to and meet new people!
We'll be out with our team most Saturdays from 11am-2pm, plus at other events occurring at various times.

Uhuru Furniture & Collectibles is an economic development project of the African People's Education and Defense Fund (APEDF.org), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. APEDF is lead by and works in the interest of the African working class, to address the grave disparities in education, health, healthcare and economic development faced by the community. APEDF welcomes the contributions of everyone who supports these goals.
Through the sale of donated, quality furniture and collectibles, Uhuru Furniture raises much-needed resources to support the programs and institutions of APEDF. As part of the national and international Uhuru Movement, APEDF organizes African people to attempt to solve the everyday problems imposed on the African community. APEDF has established a health care center, community gym, healthy grocery store, tutoring programs, youth athletic teams, community kitchens, African marketplaces, and organizing centers as part of the grassroots effort to change the conditions in the African community.
