ECHO Hospice is searching for bilingual volunteers, primarily English and Spanish, but all other languages and dialects are also appreciated to assist as either a Patient Care Volunteer or as an Office Volunteer.
- As a Patient Care Volunteer you will be making a positive difference in someone's life. Your main goal is providing the patient and/or family with emotional support and companionship. Patient Care Volunteers go out to the patient's home or to their assisted living facility. Volunteer activities may include watching TV, reading, listening to music, crafts, scrap-booking, assisting with letter writing, providing social stimulation, and most of all becoming a new friend. Please note that volunteers provide no medical care, medical assistance, or personal hygiene care.
- As an Office Volunteer you will be gaining valuable Hospice experience and understanding by assisting us with general office admin duties, such as copying, filing, faxing, putting together patient materials, and reception.
- Please be able to complete a minimum of 25 hours of volunteering within first 90 days.
- All volunteers will compete a hospice based orientation program prior to patient contact

Description
Volunteers play a vital role in hospice care. They can provide companionship and help with activities that may enhance quality of life while bringing true joy to patients facing terminal illnesses. Volunteers are important and may help ease the burdens associated with end-of-life care for families and loved ones. While Volunteers provide companionship to patients, they can be of great support to their families. We also have other volunteer opportunities available in our programs such as, our Expressions Art Therapy, Pawsitive Pals Pet Therapy, or Music Therapy.
