Veteran Volunteers for Veteran Hospice Patients

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: ECHO Hospice of Orange County

As a Veteran Patient Care Volunteer the main goal is providing the patient/Veteran and/or family with emotional support and companionship. Veteran Volunteer activities include watching t.v., reading, listening to music, crafts, scrapbooking, active listening, social stimulation, music therapy and most of all becoming a new friend to a Veteran who is terminally ill and facing life's end. If you have you ever wanted to be there for someone who is alone and be able to touch the end of someone's life in a special one of a kind of way, than being a Veteran Volunteer is it!

Veteran Volunteers provide individualized care and support that is unique to each patient/Veteran and families needs. By doing this you can create a bond between you and the patient/Veteran that is priceless. If you are looking for a rewarding volunteer oppurtunity than this is it for you! I'd love to hear from you.

We are seeking volunteers for both Los Angeles and Orange County.

To volunteer please call Kelli Booth- Volunteer Program Coordinator (949)629-0220

Mission Statement

The mission of Echo Hospice is to bring hope, support and life enriching care to those who face life's end. "Life is an echo. What you send out comes back. Radiate and give love and compassion, and love and compassion will return to you."

Description

Volunteers play a vital role in hospice care. They can provide companionship and help with activities that may enhance quality of life while bringing true joy to patients facing terminal illnesses. Volunteers are important and may help ease the burdens associated with end-of-life care for families and loved ones. While Volunteers provide companionship to patients, they can be of great support to their families. We also have other volunteer opportunities available in our programs such as, our Expressions Art Therapy, Pawsitive Pals Pet Therapy, or Music Therapy.
