This is an intra office position in which volunteers will manage their own call center phone station, making phone calls to blood donors. Working with and under the direction of call center staff, volunteers will be part of a unique team of volunteers entrusted to make and remind donors of their scheduled appointments at our donor centers or mobile blood drive locations. Volunteer shifts are daytime or evening Monday through Saturday. This position is located at 431 East Locust St. Des Moines, Iowa 50309.Duties & Responsibilities:
By phone, greet and remind donors of appointment times.
Leave a short and gracious message reminder when voicemail is reached.
Assist with donor appointment rescheduling needs by transferring the call to a donor center staff person.
Note any scheduling changes or accommodations made for the donor.
Check in at the beginning of shift with the call center supervisor, manager or switchboard operator to plan the daily tasks and priority calls for shift.
Enjoy talking with a variety of individuals and are able to do so in a pleasant and healthy speaking voice.
Tastefully groomed, professional appearance
Must be comfortable on phone systems and leaving short messages to clientele.
Penmanship should be legible and precise.
Extend a willingness & ability to work well with others as a part of a larger team with shared objectives.
