Are you interested in law, social work, community activism, or crisis counseling? Learn a hands-on holistic approach to ending domestic violence. Positions are available as unpaid internship or volunteer.

At FVLC our volunteers and interns are very important to us. Whether you need an internship to fulfill school credit or want to volunteer to add valuable experience to your resume, FVLC is great learning environment. You will get intimate experience with navigating the justice system, social service agencies, and how to help domestic violence survivors where they are at.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere for FVLC clients
  • Answering the agency crisis line and connecting callers with resources
  • Screening inquiries for potential legal clients
  • Maintaining an accurate agency database
  • Assisting with office management/projects as needed

Applicants must be:

  • Excellent written and oral communicators
  • Organized, able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • State certified domestic violence counselors (This is a state mandated 40-hour domestic violence training that can be provided if necessary)
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office programs and database entry
  • Bilingual applicants a plus but not required
