Labrador Retriever Rescue of Florida Inc. (LRROF) is seeking volunteers for a variety of fun and fulfilling activities, including working with adoptive families and attending 'meet-and-greet the Labs’ community events.
LRROF is non-profit and 100% volunteer-run! We rescue adoptable Labs, who may otherwise be put down, throughout Florida. Rescued Labs are housed temporarily with volunteer "foster parents" while we work to find them permanent adoptive homes. Non-foster volunteers engage in activities like:
- Adoption Counselling - Evaluate prospective adoptive families; act as a liaison between approved families and foster parents. Help families choose their special Lab.
- Participate in Events - Plan or help out at public events for LRROF, such as Meet and Greets, Fundraisers or Community Action Events.
- Transport Labs - Use your own vehicle to help get a Lab where he needs to go (e.g., vet appointments, from county shelter to foster home, etc.)
- Communications/Info Management - Answer public inquiries to our general telephone or email address; process adoption applications.
- Leadership - Volunteer positions include District Coordinators, Assistant Coordinators, Event Coordinators and Foster Coordinators.

Labrador Retriever Rescue of Florida, Inc. (LRROF) is a non-profit, 100% volunteer-run organization dedicated to placing rescued Labrador Retrievers in loving, permanent homes.
Description
Labrador Retriever Rescue of Florida, Inc. (LRROF) is comprised of hardworking volunteers and vetrinarian partners who are committed to placing Labs in new homes. Lab Rescue started in 2000 as a grassroots organization and has pioneered the talents and techniques of its volunteer base to become one of the most successful dedicated breed rescues in the State of Florida.
LRROF provides foster care, veterinary care, spaying/neutering and microchips for the Labradors in our adoption program. We operate within 12 unique areas, known as Districts, throughout Florida. Each district is managed by an Area/District Coordinator who oversees the volunteers and animals in that area. The District Coordinators report to the Board of Directors who manage, plan and facilitate the organization overall.
Our primary goal is to place our Labradors in appropriate, permanent homes. Prior to an adoption, we consider the history, temperament, personality and energy level of the rescued Labrador. The placement process includes a written application and a visit to the home of the potential adopter.
LRROF is committed to making a lifelong match for all of our rescued Labradors.
