Tht Yolo County Library-Volunteer Program is looking for an animal lover who can help with the Tales for Tails Program. They must be able to maintain control of your animal, be considerate of its safety/needs and abide by your therapy dog certification guidelines (There are several organizations which certify therapy dogs. The guidelines include such items as keeping rabies current, making sure that the dog is clean & brushed, cleaning up after them, never giving them treats while with a child, etc.). They should also work well with children and their parents, and also the library staff. Also needed is for the volunteer to be prompt and know how to follow directions. A commitment of 4 hours per month for six months is open. Available only to people with a trained and certified guide dog.
