The Yolo County Library-Volunteer Program is looking for a Youth Service Volunteer that enjoys bringing joy to children that can model good reading practices to parents. They will help assist the library staff in planning/presenting programs. Duties may include locating and pulling materials for programs to display, preparing craft materials and helping with craft activities during programs. They may also assist staff in planning and performing a story time. Once trained, may be asked to perform alone, including singing or speaking in front of crowds. Volunteers may also provide a one-time program based on their talents and interests (ex: gaming for teens, science for school age, special craft, etc.) Volunteers must be upbeat, friendly and enjoys working with children/teens and parents. Needs to possess good organizational abilities and must feel comfortable being in big crowds. Minimum age is 18 and must pass the criminal background check. A one hour shift per week, with a 6 month commitment is requested. Training is provided.
