ORGANIZATION: Alameda County Social Services Agency

  • 8 people are interested

Friendly volunteer Community Ambassadors are needed at Alameda County Social Services Agency's In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Provider Orientation Center to help greet, welcome, and usher attendees, as well as provide logistical and basic clerical support to staff. More than a hundred people typically attend these orientations, which are offered every Thursday, except for the first Thursday of the month. The ideal volunteer enjoys public interaction, has good stamina, and knows how to make people feel at ease.

This opportunity is a great way to get experience working with a fast-paced social services setting. Not available on Thursdays? The department may have other ways to engage your talents. We want to hear from you!

The next orientation is Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 10:15-12:45 at the 81st Ave Branch Library (community meeting room), 1021 81st Ave, Oakland 94621. Breakfast refreshments will be served.

Please contact Andrea Wong, coordinator at 510-271-9163 or andwong@acgov.org to confirm availability of position and attendance at orientation.
