Summer Science Camp Volunteers Needed!

The Lancaster Science Factory is looking for volunteers age 16+ to help with our summer camp series. Volunteers are needed to assist campers with projects, help with signing campers in and out, assist teachers with set-up, inventory, and clean-up, monitor campers during class & during breaks and other duties as assigned.

Our camps run Monday-Friday in AM (9am-12pm) and PM (1pm-4pm) sessions with each session being a different topic. The first day of camp is June 10th and the last day is August 16th. We do require volunteers to arrive a half-hour before camp starts and stay a half-hour after camp ends.

Ideally, volunteers will be available either AM, PM or All Day for the entirety of the session or week. Once oriented as a volunteer, you may sign up for as many camp sessions as you'd like.

Camp volunteers must complete a Volunteer Orientation with our STEM Educator and those who are age 18 and over must have an updated Criminal Background Check and Child Abuse Clearance prior to the start of volunteering. Volunteers who have lived outside of PA in the past 10 years must also complete a FBI clearance which is about $28 and takes a few weeks to come back. Volunteers ages 16 & 17 will not need to complete these clearances until their 18 th birthday.
