Do you have a caring heart? Are you a good listener? Then become a sexual assault advocate! Sexual violence is an issue that impacts so many in our community.
Advocates respond to calls on our 24-hour crisis hotline and provide emotional support, referrals and information to survivors of sexual assault, their families, and loved ones. They advocate for and assist victims in making contact with agencies and systems such as shelter, law enforcement, medical and social services. They respond to Emergency Room and/or Law Enforcement calls, and support clients through those situations. Other volunteer opportunities include office help, fundraising, community education and helping at events.
Advocates are provided with state-mandated 40 hours of training to best equip them to help others. You can volunteer from home! Schedule is flexible

Description
Volunteer Advocates help Support Within Reach achieve the mission and goals by providing services and community awareness in Beltrami, Cass, Clearwater and Hubbard Counties. Support Within Reach provides free 40hr.training throughout a 10 week training session. Upon completion volunteer will be able to take call for hospital response and crisis line.
Support Within Reach is a confidential advocacy service for survivors of sexual violence, their family, friends, and communities, which includes medical, legal and judicial advocacy. We also do Community Education / Prevention and outreach.
