Receptionists should have great customer service skills. They should be able to multi-task and problem-solve. Receptionists should be able to work well under pressure because the front desk area can get extremely busy. They should be able to handle conflict and thoroughly answer questions. They need to be cognizant of center activities and take initiative. Their reception duties will include answering the phone, answering questions and transferring calls. They need to be computer literate and be able to distinguish between different program documents and forms. Receptionists need to be able to take on special projects such as filing, data entry, etc. and will be providing clerical support to staff.
