Laguna Hills Memorial Day Half Marathon on Monday, May 29, 2017. We need volunteers to help pass out medals, water stations, food at the finish line, kids activities, and more. Each volunteer gets a free volunteer t-shirt, lunch and community service credit, and the satisfaction of helping support thousands of participants complete their race.
This marks the 19th annual running of Memorial Day running event which takes place in the beautiful Orange County cities of Laguna Hills, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Woods, and Laguna Niguel. Runners and walkers of all experience levels come out and enjoy the Memorial Day festivities while supporting the United States Marine Corps Dark Horse Battalion and South County Outreach.
Our Charity Partners:
The City of Laguna Hills adopted the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, of the 1st Marine Division. This infantry battalion, nicknamed "DARKHORSE" is based out of Camp Pendleton. Laguna Hills’ Team Dark Horse is focused on providing encouragement, relief and comfort to marines/sailors and their families. The City of Laguna Hills intends to donate $3 per race participant to the 3/5 Support Committee.
South County Outreach is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping low-income families, seniors and individuals in crisis. Services include food distribution (up to one week a month of groceries), rental and utility assistance, computer training, clothing vouchers and financial coaching. South County Outreach's goal is not only to provide emergency services but to provide the tools to help people help themselves.
If your school or organization is interested in volunteering for the day of the race (5/29) or pre-race activities (5/27 and 5/28) please register online at http://tinyurl.com/l2smgzh. Please feel free to share this information with friends, family, and co-workers. Every volunteer makes a difference.
Thank you for your volunteer efforts. These events could not happen without you!
