ORGANIZATION: Interfaith Community Services

  • 34 people are interested

We are seeking those interested in providing short, necessary, safe masked contact with seniors seeking our services. Medical experience is not required but helpful. Trained volunteers interview potential participants for services. The commitment to ICS is a 3 hour assignment, once a month or more if you are available,You go to the home, ask a few pre-set questions and have them sign the paperwork. Your submit a report back to ICS.

It is rewarding to know that, based upon your brief and safe contact and followup report, a home bound senior citizen or a disabled person will receive our services. ICS provides critical food and transportation services and connects participants with volunteers for supportive connections such as TeleCare (morning security call) and Friendly Phoning. Once the pandemic is over, we also will continue to provide our other in person services such as Friendly Visiting, Minor Home Repair and others. Volunteers are needed in all areas of town.
