Caring for a loved one on hospice can be a 24/7 job. A care giver wants the best for their loved one, and making sure your loved one is safe is very important. However, it can be nice to get a few hours off from care giving duties. When you become a hospice respite volunteer, you sit with a patient and give the care giver a needed break. By providing a respite visit, you help a care giver avoid burnout. This allows a care giver to continue providing much needed care to a hospice patient.
