Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve is looking for adults to become assistant naturalists. If you like nature and kids you are well on your way. We will train you to help teach students about nature, science and some history. This is a paid volunteer position. We are nonprofit and cater to local elementary schools, preschools and home schools. We also have family programs on the weekends as well as afterschool childrens programs and family campfires. The atmosphere is friendly and the preserve is beautiful. We are very flexible so you can set your own schedule, but you need to be available from 9am-2pm some week days. Description
Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve, Inc. is a nonprofit educational corporation supported by memberships, grants, donations and fund raising projects. The preserve and nature center are very much an integral part of the Rochester community, enjoying the support and volunteer help of Rochester area residents and businesses. Many volunteer hours have been and continue to be spent in developing and maintaining the preserve, teaching of classes, as well as in helping with various fund raising projects. Sixteen acres of wood, meadow and stream, nestled in the midst of one of Rochester Michigan's neighborhoods and only 5 minutes from most shopping and business areas, Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve provides a quiet oasis of natural beauty; the perfect opportunity to take a lunch-hour stroll through an enchanting winter wonderland or along a spring path rioting with color. Before you leave, don't forget to visit Dinosaur Hill's award winning nature center, the perfect setting for displaying nature's bounties and teaching her lessons. In the nature center you will find brochures describing the many programs Dinosaur Hill offers for groups, children, adults and families. Classes are small and are taught by experienced, professional staff.
