We are looking for volunteers (ages 16 and up) to help with summer day camps at a non-profit nature center. Spend your day helping a naturalist teach youngsters science, crafts and the love of nature. Classes are small and loads of fun! We run different week long day camps from June through August. The camps are diverse, everything from Dinosaur Camp to Cooking Camp to Pre-school camp. Make your own schedule! Only available on Wednesdays? Want to help every other week? Mornings? Afternoons? No problem. We appreciate and respect your time. This year the camps run Monday-Thursday. One of our camps will run for 3 days at beautiful Lost Lake in northern Oakland township. Some camps run 9-noon (over flow 1-4pm) others 10-4. Our preschool camps 10-noon. (overflow 1-3pm)

Description

Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve, Inc. is a nonprofit educational corporation supported by memberships, grants, donations and fund raising projects. The preserve and nature center are very much an integral part of the Rochester community, enjoying the support and volunteer help of Rochester area residents and businesses. Many volunteer hours have been and continue to be spent in developing and maintaining the preserve, teaching of classes, as well as in helping with various fund raising projects. Sixteen acres of wood, meadow and stream, nestled in the midst of one of Rochester Michigan's neighborhoods and only 5 minutes from most shopping and business areas, Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve provides a quiet oasis of natural beauty; the perfect opportunity to take a lunch-hour stroll through an enchanting winter wonderland or along a spring path rioting with color. Before you leave, don't forget to visit Dinosaur Hill's award winning nature center, the perfect setting for displaying nature's bounties and teaching her lessons. In the nature center you will find brochures describing the many programs Dinosaur Hill offers for groups, children, adults and families. Classes are small and are taught by experienced, professional staff.
