Meals on Wheels Delivery

Looking for a volunteer opportunity that is fun and rewarding? Join our Volunteer team! As a Meals on Wheels Volunteer, you will belong to a team committed to helping older adults who are homebound maintain their health and independence with nutritious food, personal contact, and caring service.

Driver: A volunteer is needed to deliver meals in Kent on Wednesday mornings, as needed. Drivers typically arrive at the Center at 8:30AM, load up the meals, and are done with their route in about 2 hours. Training is provided, and mileage is reimbursable while making deliveries. We are looking for someone that is available longer term.

Sound Generations, established in 1967, is Washington State's most comprehensive non-profit organization that supports people on their aging journey through community connections and accessible services. Established in 1967, we support almost 54,000 older adults, disabled persons, and those who care for them annually in King County.

Description

Our eleven programs operating throughout numerous community and senior center sites are constantly striving to expand the provision of food security, transportation, health & wellness, and assistance services to under served and marginalized populations. We are committed to helping all people, especially those in low-income communities and communities of color, obtain the services they need while feeling included and respected in a community that affirms aging.
