Volunteers in our education department provide guided tours of the Museum for a variety of visitors, particularly through our "Why History Matters" tours for school groups. Former teachers, actors and history buffs will love this opportunity!
Education program volunteers are trained to provide hour-long guided tours of the museum to school groups (primarily 4th graders), to assist with set-up and clean-up tasks (such as moving and cleaning cafeteria tables).
RESTRICTIONS: Education volunteers must have a desire and ability to work with visitors of all ages and be able to adapt to seasonally-changing attendance at the museum. Peak tour season occurs during the school year, particularly March-early June. Availability Tuesdays-Fridays during the day preferred. Volunteers must be able to communicate effectively and must be dependable, pleasant, and helpful. Volunteers must be 18 years or older.
