Clean Kennel
Ahhh, relaxing in a freshly cleaned kennel.

This is one of the most critical volunteer jobs at NMDR. By helping out on the Daily Dog Care Team you'll be starting out your day by giving these puppy mill survivors a fresh start to their day and to their new lives. Seeing the dogs in their freshly cleaned kennel is very much worth cleaning and feeding in the morning.

Our morning daily dog care/cleaning team helps prepare the dogs and the kennel for the day each morning from about 8:30 - 11:00. The Cleaning Team is responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, and power washing the kennel, washing food bowls, providing clean water, food, beds & bedding for the dogs and starting the laundry process.

About National Mill Dog Rescue

Location:

5335 J D Johnson Road, Peyton, CO 80831, US

Mission Statement

To rescue, rehabilitate and rehome discarded breeding dogs and to educate the general public about the cruel realities of the commercial dog breeding industry.

Description

National Mill Dog Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization incorporated in the state of Colorado.

We have been in existence since February of 2007 when Theresa Strader rescued our founder, Lily, from a kennel in Missouri. When Theresa got to the auction, Lily was sitting up in the back of her cage in the dark barn that she lived in. Lily was sitting on her back legs and rubbing her stomach with her front paws, looked Theresa square in the eyes and asked her for help.

Theresa knew that she couldn't leave the auction without Lily. Lily was worn out, with a rotted jaw and mammary tumors along her entire left side.

On that day National Mill Dog Rescue began. We have pledged to give retired breeding dogs an opportunity for a new life in homes full of love. We hope you will support us in our mission and be a part of our organization.
