A VLTCO in the Nevada State Long Term Care Ombudsman Program serves persons 60 years of age and older who reside in long term care facilities by:
- Providing them with information about their rights and available resources
- Obtaining factual information about resident's complaints, investigating and resolving these complaints and safeguarding the resident's rights; and
- Assuring that they receive quality of care and treatment from service providers

Mission of the State of Nevada Aging and Disability Services Division vision's Volunteer Long Term Care Ombudsman Program is to advocate based on the interests of residents living in long term care facilities to improve their quality of life and care.
