Do you have a passion for music? Share it with the
students at Bresee Community Center
! Share it by
teaching lessons in guitar, piano, voice, etc. or classes on sound recording and engineering or basic composition or choir or band or you name it! We would love to have your expertise, your aide, and your talent.

Let us know what your interest is and we'll find a way for you to share it with our middle and high school kids in our underserved community.

Workshops run in 8-week sessions and meet for 1 hour once a week, Mon, Wed, Thurs., with the majority on Monday or Wednesday, from 5:30-6:30pm. Instructors would need to be at each meeting (if possible) while assistants or guest instructors could come less frequently - teaching maybe one portion of a larger class.

Mission Statement

Mission

Bresee Foundation offers excellent after-school programs and family services in a safe, nurturing environment, equipping young people to pursue their education, achieve their full potential, and serve their community. Our goal is to cultivate character driven, creative, college bound leaders that can continue the cycle of transformation in their neighborhoods.

Description

Organization Overview

The Bresee Foundation is a nonprofit community center that is a source of faith, hope, and service to low-income youth, adults, and families in central Los Angeles. We serve nearly 2,000 individuals annually.

Our Volunteer Program

Last year over 600 volunteers served at Bresee, helping us to provide the high quality services that enable our students to reach their full potential. In doing this, the program creates a rich framework for community involvement and provides a model of volunteerism for our youth. Meanwhile, volunteers get the rewarding experience of giving back to the community and impacting the lives of kids. Additionally, they learn new skills and gain new experiences, developing themselves personally and vocationally.
