Volunteer Tutors in our Adult Tutoring Program provide two hours of individualized, one-on-one instruction to a learner. The pairs choose where and when they would like to meet.
Currently, we have a large number of learners waiting for a volunteer tutor who can help with language and reading skills.
Recent statistics reveal that approximately 20% of adults in Grand Rapids and the greater Kent County are low-literate, meaning they struggle to read everyday materials.
