Have fun, meet new people and give back to the community!

The primary function of the Ready Room associate is to process merchandise from the donor's vehicle to the sales floor as quickly and efficiently as possible. This keeps the receiving area from getting overloaded and gets merchandise out where customers can see and purchase it. Along the way, depending on what it is, it gets cleaned, polished, plugged in and tested and a price and department assigned.

The Ready Room handles large and small appliances, electronics, lighting, plumbing, electrical, tools, hardware, doors/windows, cabinets, paint, tile/flooring and lumber. Anything with a cord and plug gets tested as well as any gas powered tools. All tested merchandise gets a green sticker to signify it has been tested as well as a 2 week warranty. The Ready Room is also where customers come with questions about much of the merchandise in the ReStore. The associate needs to be friendly, courteous and helpful. If you don't have the answer, always seek out another associate to help. If the customer decides to purchase something, offer to carry it up to the cash register. Large objects are moved to the shipping area where they can be loaded to the customer's vehicle.

The Ready Room associate should have a basic knowledge of electricity, tools and hardware, home building and related subjects. Again, no one knows everything and much of the work done is a group effort. You'll find working in the Ready Room a fun, educational and rewarding experience.
