What we are looking for is:
Ideal candidate wil have finished Fundamental accounting Course at school, have a strong interest/passion for learning more about nonprofit operational accounting activities. This role requires some basic knowledge of operational accounting and general business practices. Company is willing to train an enthusiastic candidate. Additionally, some bookkeeping and accounting experience are preferred, but is not required.
Candidate must have the ability to use computer based software, and must be proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, and Outlook).What you will be doing is using your skill and knowledge to develop processes, analyze data and complete various basic business tasks and projects as assigned. You will support the Senior Accountant on projects listed below:
Assist with the accounts payable function to understand the process from receipt of a check request through payment.
Tasks may include but are not limited to: Vendor identification Verifying (or recording) invoice number, invoice date, post date, due date and invoice amount. Verifying (or coding) invoices Matching check with invoices to prepare for mailing, Recalculating invoices Researching and writing notes to support invoices Reconcile general ledger accounts and/or bank statements to ensure proper accountability of cash; Tasks may include but are not limited to: Clearing checks, Filing cancelled or voided checks Maintain monthly review/reconciliation of balance sheet and other general ledger account. Various projects assigned. Organize vendor files, support document for invoices, filing W9s, storing electronic versions of the vendor Forms W-9 as well as verifying and analyzing vendor data. Analyze and prepare JEs for daily credit card sales and fees data. Reconcile credit card monthly expense report.
6 month commitment please, 15 hours every week (2 full days).
Position is volunteer-based, and unpaid.
