This volunteer opportunity is a great way to directly support sexual assault victims from Cobb, Paulding and Cherokee Counties.

The Sexual Assault Program operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays. Volunteers are needed to help cover shifts so that there is always someone available to respond to a victim when needed.

Volunteers would be expected to take at least 2 shifts a month. Scheduling is flexible and volunteers choose which days/shifts they can cover. Shifts are from 6PM-4AM and 4AM-6PM daily.

What will the volunteer do during a shift?

When on-call, volunteers must have their phones with them at all times. If called to the exam location by the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner, volunteers are expected to arrive within 45 minutes. Volunteers will provide support, information, clothes or other needs to victims while at the hospital.

Volunteers must pass background checks and must complete training on sexual assault and domestic violence, provided by liveSAFE Resources. The Sexual Assault Program Director will meet individually with volunteers to assess compatibility with the program and discuss specifics.
