Pet Visits

Lyngblomsten has many residents who would benefit from the companionship of a loving dog, cat, rabbit, guinea pig, etc.! Visit with your pet and help brighten someone's day!

As a Pet Visit volunteer, you will:

  • Provide opportunities for residents to pet and/or hold animal(s)
  • Chat with residents during the visit

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Dogs and cats must be at least 1 year of age and current on vaccinations
  • Animals must be well-behaved around people and wheelchairs
  • Dogs and cats must be potty trained
  • Pet owners must be willing to approach residents in a friendly manner and hold brief conversations

TIME COMMITMENT: Days and times are flexible. We can work with your schedule.

For the health and safety of our residents, we request that all volunteers complete a Dept of Human Services background screen with fingerprinting.

Description

Lyngblomsten provides compassionate care to older adults through residential and community services. Volunteers of all ages are welcomed to explore over 100 unique and varied opportunities. While short-term options may be available periodically, we encourage longer-term commitments given the exceptional level of orientation, training and on-going education Lyngblomsten provides in support of its volunteers.
