Programs including walking tours of historic sites, and conferences with speakers regarding history of the Underground Railroad and its relevance for today, and in particular the Capital Region of NY and its role in it. Our organization has acquired an Underground Railroad historical site in Albany, NY, and has started the restoration of the site as a living museum. We have raised over $1 million for this work and need added support from the community for matching funds. Work is in progress. The site is open. Tours and visits are being scheduled now. We also hold an annual conference. We do an archaeology program. We have a summer youth program. We run a wide variety of other programs through out the year. Ours is an award winning program. We most recently have been awarded the Capital District Council for social Studies Partners In Education Award, Community Volunteer Award from St. Anne Institute and other awards.
