The Ronald McDonald House of South Florida (RMH) houses the families of children who undergo treatment at the Holtz Children’s Hospital just across the street. Many of the families residing at the RMH cannot afford short or long-term housing during their child’s treatment, and need to stay nearby until treatments are complete, which could last months. The Little Lighthouse Foundation (LLF) provides dinners to these families multiple times a month, whether preparing and cooking a meal, or helping to plate and serve a sponsored meal from a local restaurant. Preparations are made to serve up to 30 guests.

Volunteers arrive to the RMH and travel upstairs to the kitchen where meals are prepped and distributed. If you enjoy time spent entertaining in the kitchen, Adopt-A-Meal is for you! Once an announcement alerts the families that "dinner is served", volunteers spend time distributing meals, entertaining attendees, and participating in activities with children. On occasion, LLF will bring in an entertainer for after the meal. Adopt-A-Meal sessions occur from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.

The Little Lighthouse Foundation assists children and their families in South Florida who face educational, financial, and medical hardships. This support is derived from recruiting and educating passionate, caring, socially conscious South Floridians, and then deploying them to beneficiary charities. In addition, the Little Lighthouse Foundation raises monies to provide direct support both directly to children and their families and to address specific needs of local charities benefitting children. Through a new paradigm of fundraising and awareness, the Little Lighthouse Foundation financially supports numerous partner organizations throughout South Florida and dispatches hundreds of volunteers who donate their time and hearts.

Founded in 2010, The Little Lighthouse Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that rallies volunteers and conducts high profile events to benefit children and their families throughout South Florida. Focusing on supporting families who face medical, educational, emotional and financial challenges, the Little Lighthouse Foundation?s network of active young professionals contribute both time and financial contributions to the greater good of the foundation's beneficiaries.
