Thank you so much for your interest in volunteering for Safe Shelter of St. Vrain Valley! Safe Shelter could not operate without the generous support of volunteers!

Community Outreach Volunteers support Safe Shelter by providing a friendly face for the organization at community events and fundraisers as well as assist with our social media campaigns.

Responsibilities:
- Attend community events as needed
- Greet community members
- Hand out pamphlets and giveaways
- Provide information about Safe Shelter programs and services, and how we support those affected by domestic violence
- Assist with social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) and email marketing (MailChimp)

Required Skills:
- An outgoing personality
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to engage and interact with the public
- Bilingual, especially Spanish speakers are highly encouraged to apply
- Social media skills a plus!

Time Commitment:
- 1.5- to 4-hour shifts (depending on the needs of the event)
- Safe Shelter generally attends 8-15 events annually. Events will be communicated to all Community Outreach Volunteers and volunteers may sign up for the events that are open on their schedules.

*** Mandatory domestic violence training must be completed before beginning volunteer work. Volunteer training begins 1/1/22/2019.

Safe Shelter of St. Vrain Valley provides a comprehensive system of programs and services to address the needs of victims of domestic abuse:

Our services include, but are not limited to:

* 24-hour crisis line
* Emergency shelter
* Individual and group counseling
* Case management (including transitional housing programs)
* Information and referrals
* Legal advocacy
* Community and peer education

All services are available in both English and Spanish.
