Palo Alto Humane Society (PAHS), a local non-profit, is seeking volunteers to foster kittens or cats up for adoption through local rescue groups, feed feral cat colonies, or learn how to trap homeless and feral cats for spay/neuter (known as trap, neuter, and return or TNR). We urgently need one or two dedicated volunteers willing to drive these cats to and from spay/neuter clinics, and to hold them in a safe garage or spare room overnight while they recover from surgery. Training provided. Ideal if you are retired or currently not employed full time. Please consider this. It makes a huge difference to the lives of disadvantaged cats in our community.

Mission Statement
The mission of Palo Alto Humane Society (PAHS) is to alleviate the suffering of animals, increase public sensitivity to animal issues, and elevate the status of animals in our society through innovative programs in intervention, education and advocacy. With the goal of creating a more humane planet, PAHS empowers people to make humane choices and take action on behalf of the animals.
Description
Palo Alto Humane Society(PAHS) is one of the few humane societies nationwide with no animal shelter. Instead of managing animals inside a shelter, we work to keep animals out of the shelter.
We educate, advocate, and intervene whenever humane expertise is needed throughout the mid-Peninsula community.
Our Gift Shop is a great place to browse and shop - all proceeds directly support our programs assisting cats, dogs, rabbits, horses, birds, etc.
