Nonprofit jobs are on the rise according to a recent study by Johns Hopkins University. If you are passionate about public service and might consider a career in the nonprofit or government sector, gain hands on experience supporting a reputable Volunteer Program in the Loudoun County Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services. Candidates must be a student accepted or registered at a local community college or university with an interest in learning about volunteer engagement. You’ll learn how to recruit, screen and match volunteers in the community, as well as, how to manage an impact driven and well-organized volunteer program. You must be able to perform customer service duties, communicate effectively, and interact pleasantly with potential volunteer and organizations. Students who complete 20 hours of volunteer service will be eligible to attend a nationally recognized Excellence in Volunteer Management Training series.

Description
The Light Up Loudoun Volunteer Services offers a variety of internal opportunities that provide support and assistance to the Area Agency on Aging (AAA) programs and services. It also includes referrals to local hospitals, libraries, museums, parks, and thrift shops. Regardless of your age, opportunities await you!
