For someone living with cancer--either as a patient, family member, or caregiver--it can sometimes seem as if there are more questions than answers. ACS Cancer Resource Volunteers can make a difference in the lives of cancer patients by sharing their knowledge, experience, and compassion at the ACS Cancer Resource Center located at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick (a partnership between ACS, Mid Coast, and New England Cancer Specialists).
Resource volunteers provide information about American Cancer Society programs and services to patients, caregivers, and families, as well as information about local hospital and community resources, support groups, and cancer education classes.
Cancer Resource Volunteers will be volunteering for the American Cancer Society, as well as for the hospital or cancer center they work in. Appropriate training will be provided by each of the partner organizations.
The resource center is located at New England Cancer Specialists on the campus of Mid Coast Hospital, and is open Monday-Friday 9am-3pm.
