The Women's Center of Los Angeles (WCLA), a grassroots and virtual organization founded in 2005, was created based on the legacy of the women's centers of the 60's and 70's. Our mission is to provide community and guidance that empowers women and girls to develop the knowledge, self-confidence, and life-skills they need to reach their potential and thrive. All of our programs are provided by women volunteers who are moved and committed to make a difference in the lives of women and girls!
Make a Difference! Volunteers dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of women are needed to facilitate our WOMEN SUPPORTING WOMEN program's education/support groups for at-risk women in drug and alcohol recovery centers, L.A. County jail, and other social service locations. Volunteers facilitate the groups in which women are guided to share their experience, strength, and hope to inspire and empower themselves and each other. Experience in counseling or group facilitation, 12-Step recovery and women's empowerment is helpful but not required. Minimum one-year commitment necessary. Group facilitation training is provided. To apply, you must send your resume and a completed application to: info@womenscenterla.org. The application can be found at womenscenterla.org. All responses sent via VolunteerMatch must include an email address and telephone number.
