About

Adult Education and Family Literacy Week is September 26-October 1 and International Literacy Day will be celebrated this year on September 8!

There is no better time to volunteer 1-3 hours per week for three months at the Oxnard Public Library. You'll discover the rewards of being an Adult Literacy Tutor and help one of 36 million American adults who struggle to read, write, do math, and use technology above a third grade level.

No teaching experience is needed to help an adult improve their reading, writing or math skills. In two tutor preparation workshops volunteers learn to use simple, effective techniques and materials with their students.

Share your enthusiasm and your knowledge... and make a real difference in the life of an adult, their family and the community.

Now is the time!
