Heartland Hospice in Broward County needs Vigil Volunteers who are available from 8pm-8am. As a Vigil Volunteer, you will sit at the bedside of hospice patients who are actively dying without family members or friends present. Vigil Volunteers are also available to give support to family members who need a break from the bedside of the loved one during the dying process.
Vigil Volunteers are called when there is a need. Schedule is flexible since volunteers are needed for 4-hour shifts 24 hours a day (8pm to 8am is especially needed!). Volunteer Orientation and specialized training will be provided. A criminal background check and TB testing is required and will be paid for by Heartland Hospice.
