The Colon Cancer Prevention Project is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to eliminating preventable colon cancer death and suffering by increasing screening rates through education, advocacy, and health systems improvement. ADVOCACY WORK:Support policies that help uninsured people get screened and people across Kentucky and Southern Indiana to be educated about colon cancer screening EDUCATION: So many don’t know about colon cancer screening. Spread the word, and help us at health fairs and educational events across the region. FUNDRAISING:Fundraising is key to our success. The money raised for the Project goes to educate people on screening and help people get screened. Fundraising helps save lives. JOIN A COMMITTEE:Apply to work on one of our committees HELP RAISE MONEY TO FIGHT COLON CANCER: Support work that raises money to fight this preventable disease. SHARE YOUR STORY:Sharing your story has power PARTICIPATE:Come to our events! HELP US EXPAND!:We are growing into more communities START SOMETHING NEW:Be creative! The Colon Cancer Prevention Project is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to eliminating preventable colon cancer death and suffering by increasing screening rates through education, advocacy, and health systems improvement.
Description
The Project is a collaborative organization, working to maximize efforts and available resources by leveraging partnerships with local and national organizations with compatible missions and a commitment to fighting cancer. Partners include the American Cancer Society, the Kentucky Cancer Program, the Kentucky Cancer Consortium, the Kentucky Cancer Registry, State and Local Public Health Departments, Gilda’s Club, a number of organizations and individuals in the medical community, and other interested stakeholders.
