Do you want to build strong and lasting bonds among your team members? Want to know you've made a real difference by getting food to hungry families and individuals?
CUMAC offers a 3 hour Act Against Hunger program that will help your team learn about growing food insecurity in their community while working together to get critical support to those in need.
CUMAC's program begins with a comprehensive tour intended to teach about hunger in our community and the many ways in which CUMAC and our volunteers are working to address it.
Teams are then tasked with a variety of projects in support of CUMAC's mission to feed people and change lives: packing bags of food for food insecure households, preparing household items for victims of disaster and low income homes, and organizing food resources for our county-wide depot.
Staff are on hand at all times to answer questions, guide you in your experience and help volunteer teams navigate the challenges and obstacles inherent to serving record numbers with very limited resources. Teams leave our facility with a greater connection to the communities in which they work and with the unique bond that comes from working together to help others despite the challenges set forth by soaring need for food.
*Groups often hold food or financial collections leading up to their Act Against Hunger experience. Besides teaching people to think differently about hunger and food resources, it’s incredibly rewarding to see how quickly your team's collection grows to serious hunger-combating proportions!
