This is a Virtual Opportunity, with no fixed address.

ServeOhio (The Ohio Commission on Service and Volunteerism) seeks Volunteer Peer Reviewers for Ohio AmeriCorps grant applications. Peer reviewer applications will be accepted through April 21, 2017 for review of applications May 3 through through May 19, 2017. The review process is done virtually and by conference call. Reviewers should plan to commit between 11-18 hours total to the review over a two-week timeframe.

Prior grant review experience is not necessary; however, previous experience with national service and/or volunteer engagement is preferred. Peer reviewers should have experience (volunteer or paid) in one or more of the following focus areas - education, healthy futures, economic opportunity, environmental stewardship, or veteran/military families, nonprofit management or capacity building.

Training and orientation will be provided via webinar and conference call. Reviewers will dial-in to a one-hour orientation conference call to review the application instructions and process. Reviewers must sign and submit a Conflict of Interest statement. Reviewers will then independently review their assigned proposals. Finally, reviewers will dial-in to their scheduled team conference call for a facilitated discussion of their assigned proposals. All application materials must either be destroyed or returned to ServeOhio.

Participation is required for a one-hour orientation conference call session on May 4 at Noonor 3pm AND a two-hour application review conference call session on May 19 from 9-11amor12-2pmor 3-5pm, based on your availability. Reviewers must be able to attend at least one orientation and one application review session.

Current AmeriCorps grantees of ServeOhio, applicants in this grant cycle and current AmeriCorps members are not eligible to act as peer reviewers in this competition.

An application is required for this volunteer position. Contact Mary Cannon at mary.cannon@serveohio.gov for more information and an application.
