Be a turning point in a child's life by serving as a Big Sister/Big Brother mentor! UHHR has partnered with BBBS organization in matching our UHHR children with volunteers interested in making a difference in a child's life. The program is run through the BBBS organization, allowing matched volunteers and children are able to participate in BBBS activities and utilize BBBS resources. A minimum one year commitment is required.

The mission of Utah Health & Human Rights (UHHR) is to promote the health and well-being of the world’s torture survivors. At the core of torture, the trust between two human beings is destroyed. Our services focus on restoring trust and helping a survivor rebuild emotional, physical, social, and spiritual bonds. Our work also aims to prevent the effects of intergenerational trauma.

Description

The goal of our program is to help torture survivors and their families heal from the consequences of torture by improving their physical, social, and emotional health through integrated and holistic direct services ana advocacy.
