Experience a new culture and help a refugee family

Family Friends is a CCCAS Refugee Resettlement program that matches local people, families, or groups with a newly arriving refugee family. Volunteers will visit with the families and help them learn how to live in America! Previous volunteers have tutored the family's children, showed the family around Erie, taught families how to ride the bus, and played at the park with the children. This is a great way to experience a different culture!

Volunteers will be oriented to the refugee community and the position itself during a volunteer orientation with the volunteer coordinator. Clearances are required and can be taken care of by the agency. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older OR volunteer with a parent or responsible adult.
