There is a growing need for caring and reliable individuals to spend time with terminally ill patients in the Southern RI area, especially in the towns of Newport, Middletown, North Kingstown, Westerly, Warwick and West Warwick. Our volunteers are vital members of of our hospice team and provide special support to patients and their families who are aproaching end of life. There is a free training required that will prepare you for this wonderful opportunity. If you have one hour or more a week to read, play music or spend time with someone to impact the quality of their life, then Hospice volunteering is for you.

Beacon Hospice provides the best end-of-life care to terminally ill patients. The Hospice philosophy recognizes that every person approaching death deserves to die with dignity, respect, free of pain and in an environment that promotes quality of life. We provide support and care for persons in the last phases of life so that they may live as fully and as comfortably as possible. Hospice recognizes dying as part of the normal process of living and focuses on maintaining that quality. We provide physical, social, spiritual and emotional care during the last stages of life. We provide this care to all patients and ther families 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in both home and facility settings.
