One of the unique features of the McHenry County Historical Society and Museum is that we are fortunate enough to have a genuine, 1895 one-room school on our Museum Campus. We are looking for individuals (men and women alike) who would enjoy portraying a schoolmarm or master during our "West Harmony Experience" for groups of 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade students from the County. These groups usually come Tuesday or Wednesday mornings, so availability on those days until 12:00 pm is most preferred.
All the information, training, and appropriate-era clothing will be provided. Previous education or tour experience is not required! Contact us today to find out when our next training session will be!

Description
Established in 1963, our members, staff, and volunteers have a 60-year-plus record rich in preservation, education, and entertainment contributions to McHenry County.
We create learning experiences and events. We focus on local culture, organization, and family history. We collect and care for notable artifacts. We participate in the activities of like-minded organizations throughout McHenry County.
Besides operating the museum, the Society plaques historic sites and structures, holds adult programs and arranges various school and adult group tours.
